SOHAR Port & Freezone wins CSR of the Year at the Logistics ME Awards

SOHAR Port & Freezone was rewarded at the Logistics Middle East Awards 2019 for its Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives, which takes a holistic approach to community engagement, employee health and safety and environmental protection.

“This is a great achievement for SOHAR Port & Freezone, it represents our commitment to the country and the community and we’re very happy to have been chosen for this award,” said Esam Al Najjar, commercial manager, freezone.

SOHAR is leveraging the economic upside of industrial development by increasing individual employment potential through a mix of scholarships, student development programmes, health and sports programmes for schools, job creation schemes, youth and general training, while also supporting local SMEs.

“We’ve always been very close to our customers and our investors. We’ve always shared our achievements with them, and we’ve transferred that on to our community engagement by making them part of the successful story of SOHAR Port & Freezone,” Al Najjar added.

“CSR is very important because the contribution that the community has to make to the freezone and the port itself is key to our future success. It adds value to the organisation,” he said.
